The major problem is that you think you know everything, but what you don’t know would fill a library.
Now it’s time for you to pull up a chair, put on your reading glasses, and open your eyes and mind to receive the unadulterated truth about how to love and satisfy your Black Woman. So listen up, this is what she needs and wants.
SHE WANTS HONESTY… (Even if it hurts). If you’re in an established relationship and have decided to move on, or if you’ve dropped the ball somewhere along the line of truly want to atone for your actions, you should be truthful as soon as possible, says TV personality Lyanla Vanzant, “A woman can handle almost anything if you tell her the truth about it.”
SHE WANTS TO BE NO 1. Your woman wants to know that she is No. 1 in your eyes—she doesn’t want to compete with your job, your co-workers, your relatives, your homeboys, your favorite football-basketball-baseball team, or your exes.
SHE WANTS (MORE) FOREPLAY. When was the last time you blew your woman’s mind? Sisters are complaining that some brothers aren’t familiar with the art of wooing a woman—making love to her mind and soul; systematically teasing and pleasing her with one sweet gesture after another.
SHE WANTS (MORE) AFTEPLAY Newsflash: According to the Ebony Sex Survey and other research, your woman wants more sex, more often; some women want sex daily, and the majority of respondents desire sex more than once a week. Sisters have stated that they want more variety and creativity in the bedroom.
SHE WANTS TO BE FUSSED OVER According to California Relationship Therapist Ron Elmore, compliments and small acts of kindness can go a very long way. Sometimes, romance means helping your woman out—before she asks you to.
SHE WANTS PEACE-AND, ER, SOMETIMES A GOOD FIGHT Many relationships suffer because the Black Woman has been misunderstood and misinterpreted by her man for far too long, according to relationship therapists. “A lot of black women have issue with being able to express their feelings because they feel so constricted and have not had the positive reinforcement to be themselves in relationship.” Explains Dr. Gardere, “Because of this, many black women are on pins and needles in their relationships, and some just top dating.”
SHE WANTS YOU TO DREAM AND SUCCEED There is no greater love than that of a man who can share his vision with is wife. A woman wants to know that you have a dream. There is nothing more discouraging to a woman than a man who doesn’t have a dream or a vision for himself and her. If you don’t communicate your dream, she’ll become afraid that you’re not going to be able to provide for her, protect her, or move forward in your own life.”
